1 Corinthians 2: 14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him. 15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, [discernible both] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;
What an amazing thought it is to know that our Father God causes us to triumph in Christ. That alone “blesses the puddin’ outta me.” But, this Scripture is so much deeper, and there is so much more beauty hidden in the words penned by the Apostle Paul. Let’s look at this line upon line and precept upon precept.
The Apostle Paul, under the direction of the Holy Ghost, says through “us” the evidence of God is spread. Who is “us?” “Us” is you and me; the children of God. Through you and me God has chosen to make the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Himself known. YOU are the evidence of God! Did you get that? Because if you did, you should be shouting about now!
Not only are YOU the evidence of the Father to the brothers and sisters in the body of Christ, but YOU are also the evidence among the sinners. Sinners should see the character and the fulness of God when they see you coming.
Today is your opportunity to BE a sweet-smelling savor in a lost and hurting world. What an amazing opportunity that is! We get lost in the minutiae of “life,” but God has equipped, designed, and called us to BE all that He is in all that we do. Nothing just happens and nothing is minute in the grand scheme of His plan.
Take a deep breath as you start your day and exhale all anxiety, worry, and doubt. Those things have no place in you because they have no place in God. Through Jesus we ARE complete, and we have the “rights” to walk in His finished work of the cross. That means we have been commissioned to BE THE EVIDENCE of God in the earth realm, every day, not just on the days we “feel” good. Chose today to doubt your feelings and believe His Word.
This is the day that the Lord has made. He made it with YOU in mind. Whatever you face, remember this: He has already conquered it for you, all you need to do is walk into it with the foreknowledge that: IT IS DONE!
BE your Father today!
Father God, let Your peace rule today in the lives of Your Children as they walk into what You have prepared for them. I thank You God for preparing VICTORY. Never will Your children be defeated for defeat is NOT in the vocabulary of the children of God. Let Your children leave Your sweet fragrance every place they go. In Jesus Holy Name we pray. AMEN
